Wehrmacht headgear
An M43 field cap made in Belgium during WWII. The textbook Belgian made Wehrmacht cap eagle is clearly visible.
This cap is made of the typical Wehrmacht field gray woolen cloth.
Close up of the Belgian made cap eagle machine stitched to the M43 cap. The cockade is also machine stitched to the cap. So these are two seperate insignia.
Inside view of the M43 cap, note the black leather sweat band and the maker tag of the factory ARMAND. This tag is stitched close to the rear rim of the cap.
Close up of the maker mark. It is a cloth tag which has been machine stitched to the inner lining of the cap. The text reads : ALLES voor UNIFORMEN “ Armand” GENT TEL 53612. Translation = ALL (you need) for UNIFORMS. GENT is the city in Belgium where the factory “Armand” was located and 53612 was their phone number
A different M43 field cap made in Belgium during WWII. The textbook Belgian made Wehrmacht cap eagle with cockade is clearly visible . This cap was made of a more velvet like field grey cloth.
Close up of the Belgian made cap eagle with cockade, machine stitched to the M43 cap. This is a triangle shaped insignia.
Inside view of the M43 cap, there is no lining and no the maker mark. The number 4 is a size marking.
Waffen - SS headgear
Another M43 field cap made in Belgium during WWII. The textbook Belgian made Waffen SS death head skull and the cap eagle is clearly visible.
Close up of the Belgian made Waffen SS skull, machine stitched to the M43 cap. Unlikely to the typical German stitching where the shape of the skull is followed, here the skull is stitched in a circle.
Inside view of the M43 cap, note the black leather sweat band and the maker tag of the factory ARMAND. This tag is stitched a few cm from the rear rim of the cap.
